I recently heard a story from a friend that left a lasting impression on me. Here's how it went:
๐ผ After a long day filled with meetings and challenges, my friend decided to unwind at an archery range. He was hoping for some quiet time, but noticed another person struggling with their shots. Initially, he wanted to be alone, but when asked for advice, he decided to help.
๐ They had a conversation, and my friend offered some guidance and encouragement. After a while, the man, curious about my friend’s profession, asked what he did for a living.
๐ฌ My friend replied, “I just love on people.” The man, still puzzled, asked again, “No, really, what is your job?” My friend then said, “I’m a pastor.”
โค๏ธ The man's response was profound: “I needed that today.”
This man was going through a tough time and needed someone to show him kindness. My friend's act of caring made a significant difference.

This story highlights the importance of taking time to care and respect others, as we never know their struggles or what they are going through.
But what truly stood out was how my friend viewed his job. He wasn't just a Pastor, Worship Leader, or Kids/Youth Minister. He defined his role by his actions: to ... just ... love ... on ... people.
